Massachusetts Adoption Groups |
This following is a list of organization in Massachusetts through which potential pet seekers can adopt animals.* Some organizations listed here are traditional animal shelters without regular hours, and potential adopters can only seek animals on a "by appointment" basis. Other groups have no physical facilities- animals are often housed in foster homes until they are adopted.
All organizations listed on this site currently have no permanent locations or schedules for adoption. You must contact the organization to inquire about any of their animals. Please note that some of these adoption groups will often operate in multiple locations besides the one under which they are listed. Also note that if any group listed below has an upcoming adoption fair scheduled, that event will be listed on the Adoption Events page.
Organizations are listed by county and then by town/city. You can click on the name of the county, town, or city on the list below, or you can view the entire list by scrolling down the page. A county map is provided for reference.
If an adoption site or event has only a specific type of animal available (e.g. dogs only or cats only), that information is listed as well. If there is no animal information, that adoption site or event might have multiple types of animals available (e.g. dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
